JRS Mar/Com is proud to announce and welcome Casey Van Duyne as one of the company’s newest Digital Marketing Interns. Among many things, Casey will be working in all areas of marketing—including branding, research, and strategy development.
Casey knew she wanted to work in the advertising industry ever since her mother founded Prom-Avenue in 2013, a prom/homecoming boutique. Casey assisted in Marketing the business by helping her with content ideas for her website and social media channels. One day Casey hopes to work in a large agency environment in a major metropolitan city. Casey has visited multiple ad agencies in New York City, Chicago, and San Francisco, and hopes to end up in one of those places following graduation. She also has a fraternal twin sister, who is currently living in New York City and also working in an account management internship.
Casey comes to JRS Marketing Communications with 3+ years of experiential marketing, social media, and technology solution experience. Her studies are currently conducted at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. At the U of I, she is a rising junior majoring in Advertising with a minor in Informatics. She is heavily involved with the American Advertising Federation (AAF), a student-run organization. AAF Illinois happens to be the largest chapter in the country, and has provided Casey the opportunity to work with a variety of local clients. Those clients include Cracked, Champaign Surplus, and Sofar Sounds. During her time with AAF Illinois, she’s already held two executive board positions including Head of Social Media and Chief Strategy Officer.
In her free time, Casey enjoys music and has attended over 20 concerts. She plans on going to Pitchfork and Lollapalooza in Chicago this summer and is looking forward to seeing Tame Impala, BØRNS, and Playboi Carti live. She does not have a favorite music genre, but often listens to EDM and Hip-Hop/Rap on Spotify. She also likes classical piano, and is currently learning how to play “Clair de Lune” by Claude Debussy. When it comes to food, Casey is open to trying new things. She loves it when her family makes pasta and Filipino dishes. Recently, she’s been trying to perfect an intricate, Italian macaroon recipe, and her favorite macaron flavor is raspberry with chocolate filling.
This summer, Casey is very excited to work on the Arlington Heights Rotary Santa Run hosted by the Arlington Heights Rotary Club. She hopes to expand her skillsets with analytics, SEO, and design and we are more than thrilled to have her on board.
